April 1, 2008 – Due to travel problems caused by severe weather, the Cedar Rapids Kernels regret they will cancel the ‘Meet the Kernels Night’, scheduled for tonight starting at 5:00 pm.

The weather forced the cancellation of the team’s connecting flight from Dallas-Fort Worth to Cedar Rapids stranding the team in Texas overnight.

The Kernels are scheduled to leave Dallas today around 2:30 pm and fly to Chicago where they will be bussed to Cedar Rapids and arrive after 10 pm Tuesday night.

The team’s schedule on Wednesday doesn’t permit the rescheduling of the ‘Meet the Kernels Night’. It is the first time in recent history that the event has been cancelled by anything other than weather.

The Kernels open the 2008 MWL season on the road at Clinton on Thursday, April 4^th and kick off the 2008 MWL home season at noon on Monday, April 7^th when they take on the Quad City River Bandits. Ticket office hours are from 10 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday and from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday. The ticket office is closed on Sunday.
